AWESOME !!! I thought they quit making this model a couple years back. I saw it on Buds, and had to nab it. I have all of the current models of Super Redhawk along with some of the older plain Redhawks, but I didn't have a 5 inch. This is a little quicker handling than the 7 1/2 inchers and recoil is about the same. As with all Rugers - It's built like a TANK !!! I love the look of the wood grips, but they are PAINFUL, so I put a Hogue rubber grip on it and we are good to go !!! I prefer this look over the current Super Redhawks - the long barrel ones look like they shoved a barrel into an Alaskan to get the extra length. (* But I own 2 of those also *) I checked the serial number and it is a current production - even tho I can't find them being offered on Rugers website - Special production ???
