As someone who's shot the XD-40, LCR, .45 ACP 1911, Browning Hi-Power, P250 and others, this is, by far, my most favorite gun. If you don't want to deal with the recoil of the more expensive magnum rounds when practicing, just load .38 special ammo, which is much cheaper, for the range and enjoy hardly any kick with the solid construction and hefty feel. Long barrel means more accurate sights--easy one-inch groupings at 20 yards. Not great for carry due to size, weight, only six round capacity, and difficulty finding holsters for a barrel this length, but reliable and quite energetic with magnum rounds for home defense.
