This thing is the real deal I mean it probably only weights half of what a cast aluminum weights way a quarter the weight of a billet lower. So with that aside after receiving my lower from my FFL I couldn't help myself so i grabbed a CMMG lower parts kit from the shelf with some magpul furniture and went to town on it I will say don't loose the trigger pins as i set them aside thinking i was going to use the locking ones from the ELF trigger i was installing but i soon found out that they were short as the manufacturer left more material around certain area to make sure you will never have an issue. Well after putting my Daniel Defense upper on it and i put 300 rounds there it i would have to say i like it better than my DD lower and my model is supose to be the lightest they made at the time so I'm in love.

Put together this lower with a PSA Upper and lower parts. It fits except for two issues the metal surround the pivot pin was too large and wouldn't join with the upper due to the upper free float handguard bolts and also the bolt catch is not catching on empty magazine. First issue was solved by sanding down the metal(magnesium) around the front pivot pin hole. The second issue I'm currently diagnosing as to whether it could be the magazines I'm using or I might need a bigger/different bolt catch. Also it took 2 weeks to get the lower to my FFL. Due to this issues I cannot give this product 5 stars

Lightweight, nice machining and finish. I've seen the reports of cracking when mortared, but this is for my competition/hunting gun so that's not a concern. The supplied long trigger and hammer pins worked great. No complaints, it's a great deal on a unique lower.

Ordered this lower on the 9th and was starting my pistol build on the 13th. As always I had no surprises with Buds fast shipping. This is an awesome lightweight lower. I have several with Rock River parts kits and uppers; they work great. As far as the "questionable" finish goes... I have had NO issues with mine and one is three years old.

I have used one of the fde lowers for a build. I have seen some negative reviews from people on here and the internet in general. FYI if you slip and hit any lower with a punch, hammer, etc. the finish will chip, scratch, etc. The finish on these is just as durable as any other lower I have ever used (Spikes, PSA, CMMG) I have seen photos of the lower breaking at the buffer tube point on these lowers, again FYI if you slam ANY collapsable stock when extended on the ground at an angle, ANY lower will probably break. Too many people became arm chair soldiers and builders overnight and have no F'n clue what they're doing. The lower is perfectly fine, built well, all parts fit like a glove, and mine has a super tight fit between the lower and an Aero Precision upper. I used this on a dedicated 18' SPR build and an completely satisfied with it.

Great concept - poor execution. Finish is not very durable. Rear detent hole needed to be drilled out and widened since it was out of spec. FDE color DOES NOT MATCH with the Mag Tactical upper I purchased from Mag Tactical's website directly. More lkke a gray color, but far from being flat dark earth - had to put it in the oven for about 30 minutes at 250F to darken the color up. Great concept and it is very light weight, but poor finish and can be out of spec.
