Absolutely Love this shotgun! It is a quality made product and 16ga is my favorite so this gun was a no brainer for me. The 5 chokes with it make it even better! You won't be disappointed with this gun!

I purchased this shotgun from Bud's a few years ago because I wanted a 16 gauge O/U for some upland bird hunting and did not want to spend $2,000. When I got it, I was pretty impressed on the fit of the wood to the metal. The action was a little tight, but that's t be expected. The walnut is a plain straight grain, but nicely finished. The problem I ran into was the first time I shot the gun. I took it to the clay range to get some rounds through it before taking it hunting. The bottom barrel had a few FTF and then would go off after a delay. So, I called TriStar and they paid for me to send it back. They replaced the lower firing pin and spring and test fired it. They sent it back with a target showing the POI for both barrels, which was spot on. Since then, i have not had a problem with the gun. I was impressed with TriStar's service. I think this gun has been replaced with the TriStar Trinity, which is even a better looking gun. One of my friends recently bought one and has used it for a few rounds of Sporting Clays and it performed flawlessly. I would recommend them for someone looking for a reasonably priced O/U to use for hunting and occasional clay shooting.

one of if not the only reasonable priced 16 gauge over/unders available..it certainly won't compare with one of the $2000 variety, but for the money am well pleased..shoots well, balances well..has extractors which I don't care for, but for my use, is ideal.

This shotgun is well made despite the price for a 16ga. Had to replace my fox 16 and couldn't find a affordable replacement until I found this tristar. Nice wood good fit, can't complain. Shoulders like those crazy expensive over and unders. Would defiantly recommend to someone looking for a 16. The ornamental etching is a bit ruff but still looks nice. Have yet to find a con with the one I bought. My stock has some nice ribbon in the grain. Checkering is perfect and gives a good grip when shouldered. I would give it five stars for the price point. Yes it's Turkish but still gets them quail and dove in my bag every time I go hunting. If browning made a comparably priced 16 I'd go for it but they don't so tristar it is, and I'm happy with it.

Received this gun in August of 2017. It was delivered three days after the check cleared. Had no problems receiving the gun from Buds. As described it is tight when opening and closing. Have to put more ump on it to get the lever to go to the middle when closing. Tried it out opening day of dove season. I shot a couple of shots and then had a problem trying to close the breach. I noticed that the brass on one of the shell was curled up and would not go into the camber. I Put another shell in and closed the breach with no problem. Later on I experienced the problem again. The breach would not close. I pulled the shell out and put it back in. It seemed that the shell was swelled a bit and not allowing the breach to close. I checked the rest of the shells in the box and another seemed to be swelled and not allowing the breach to close. I got to where I was careful to make sure the shells were seated before closing the breach. I had about 4 shells that did this out of three boxes. I was shooting Herter's brand. After hunting I cleaned the gun and was looking at the extractor. It seems if it has some upward play or travel that is making it bind a bit. I pushed it in and it seemed to catch on something. I could push up on it and it would push in smoothly with no bind. I don't know if it is the gun or shells or a combination of both causing the breach not to close. The shell being swelled could be from the crimp. All the shells chambered but the bottom one is the one that was causing the bind not allowing the breach to close. The extractor may have played a part in this as well when closing the breach. It is a good pointing gun and didn't kick like a mule. I have not patterned the gun on paper but will be trying it out at the skeet range. I did not shoot the first dove out of three boxes of shells. I must have had and off day.

Ordered this TriStar from Bud's and it was sent very quickly to my accepting dealer. The gun was very tight when I received it and very difficult to break open. Which isn't such a bad thing. After applying grease to all the metal surfaces that make contact with each other, and working the action for a day, it has loosened up. The wood is a little proud of the metal surfaces, but I didn't expect perfection from a $500 Turkish over/under. The shotgun is very light and is built on a smaller frame, so it looks nice and balanced. The chokes are Beretta-Mobile chokes, but the 16 gauge set isn't available from them. If you want replacements, you need to contact TriStar. I shot this 16 gauge at 16 yard trap, both singles and doubles and was surprised at how good it shot. Have yet to pattern it on paper. My main use for this gun is upland bird hunting for Grouse, Woodcock and Pheasant. Love 16 gauge shotguns. The old saying "Hits Like a 12 Gauge, Carries Like a 20" Couldn't be truer with this gun.

My FFL store received the gun from Buds before expected date (Awesome). They gun is as pictured and described. I have not shot a round of clays yet but will shortly. This was my first experience with Bud's Gun Shop and I am satisfied. Will not hesitate to buy from Bud's in the future. Keep up the good work.

Overall this is a pretty good "toss it in the truck and go" shotgun. The point of aim at about 30 yards or so is good on both barrels. I have not patterned it to see how well it does, but I have shot quite a few birds and dusted several sporting clays with it. I really like the light weight of the 16 gauge for packing around the hills. It doesn't have auto-ejectors which is nice. I don't have to go searching for my spent hulls. The trigger pull between the upper and lower barrels is noticeably different, but not too much of a distraction bird hunting. A raised rib would be nice, but then the price would go up. It comes with five different choke tube and a little carrying box for the three extra chokes and the wrench. I like the 16 gauge for pheasants, chukar and quail when hunting over my brittany. It does the trick without filling the birds full of BB's.

This is a great firearm for the price. Shoots really good. I have shoot around 500 shells , shooting sporting clays with it and have not had any problems. I'd say a great value for the money and I am a Krieghoff owner also.
