Bersa T22M Thunder 22 22 Long Rifle 3.5" 10+1 Black Syn Grip [T22M]
$303.00
by Ron C
Date Added: Tuesday 20 September, 2011
I have owned a Bersa Thunder 9mm for several years and have put several thousand rounds through it with great results, so I thought I would try another Bersa product. I wanted a 22 for my wife and kids to shoot and something that I could use to work on shooting fundamentals, without spending tons on ammo.
I ordered this gun from Buds and had it within a week. I just took it to the range for the first time today and I am very impressed. I put 200 CCI min-mags through it without a single jam. I was grouping 1.5-2 inches at 20 feet right out of the box.
I did read online that others had jamming issues. However, I noticed that many olther manufacturers had similar issues (Sig Mosquito, Walther P22, etc), so in my non-expert opinion, I think it might just be a 22 semi-auto issue. There is obviously much less powder in a 22 round and therefore less power for ejecting the spent casing. Again, I am not an expert, so this is just my opinion.
I did read that on many of the 22 semi-autos, this one included, people had good luck with CCI mini-mags, so I just bought them right from the start. I can't find CCI mini-mags locally (Minneapolis area) in bulk ammo, but Wal Mart carries boxes of 100 for $6.97, or something like that, so it is still cheap for plinking.
