I wish I had never seen this firearm. I’ve run as many rounds through this piece as high prices, lock downs, and other such stuff would allow, and I LIKE IT! In fact it’s my favorite pistol to shoot (just wish it was more conducive to conceal carry). It is a mite large and has a little too much bulk to carry concealed for my taste, it ‘prints’ easily. However, if you live in an area where you can use a shoulder holster or carry outside the waistband and cover with a jacket or coat, it works fine. I have the Ruger SR40 to be a great firearm. In my time with it, using different ammo, I’ve had no miss fires, no jams, no miss feeds, and no extraction problems. As I said, this is my favorite gun. I highly recommend it.

Ruger markets this gun as the softest shooting 40 cal on the market and they aren't kidding. I use 180 grain ammo and muzzle flip and felt recoil are comparable to my 9mm Rugers. I ran 70 rounds thru it sighting in and plinking and it's just an absolute pleasure to shoot....not at all what I expected from a 40 cal. Very accurate, great sights, easy to clean, feels good in your hand like all SR models, good balance and fit, finish and function are flawless. I would recommend this pistol to any one looking for a 40 cal.........this is without a doubt one of the best around.

My Ruger sr40 came on time with in 3 to 5 business like noted, the firearm is in excellent condition I've put 40 rounds through it so far. After purchasing the SR9E, I also purchased the 40SR handgun. I am very pleased that I did so. This 40 caliber shoots just as good as the 9mm version. I am a huge Ruger fan now. As always, you can't beat the prices and service at BudsGuns.com...and I am a true repeat customer!

I used the layaway program and once I got my SR40 paid off it was shipped the next day and in three days I was picking it up at my FFL dealer. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but will be going to my local firing range in a few day, I did take it apart and cleaned it real good once I got home. Will decide which gun I want next and do it all over again. Thanks Buds.

Great range and home defense pistol. First NEW gun purchase I've ever made and the Ruger R40 was a great choice for around $400. I've put 150-200 rounds through it now, and have not had one jam or misfire using Winchester 180gr 40 S&W FMJ ammo. It looks sharp, is accurate, easy to shoot, and not too heavy for a 40. Trigger action is okay. The slide is a little stiff but I was told by the guy at the gun range and friends it will likely losen up the more rounds I put through it and use it. Overall for the value, acuracy, quality, and reliability I would recommend this gun to anyone.

I bought this pistol for a self defense, close quarters solution and I can say that I love it. Super light, at least for me. I'm a machinist by trade and maybe I'm stronger than most. Took this to the range and blew through 150 rounds of magtech ammo. The first rouhd needed some encouragement to enter the chamber. He fired, and the rest of the family followed. I can say that this is one gun I will not ever sell. The sights are right on and the grip is right on for me. I am 6' 1", 170#. Bottom line is, this thing is like I'm ready for me against the world.
