Just not a fan of ruger semi auto handgun. I've owned 3, and traded all 3 off. It had a problem feeding rounds. Tried to double feed and wild jam up. Mostly when using federal ammo, but did happen with others. My wife had the compact version with same issue. Was a very clean gun, comfortable to hold, little heavy. Just didn't like the way it performed. Switched to cz and Taurus. Won't look back. Ruger revolver and rifle is a different story. My review only covers semi auto handgun.

Upon receiving this gun I stripped and cleaned it and shortly thereafter put 50 rounds through it. Recoil is manageable and it performed flawlessly. Good old dependable Ruger.

This firearm is very well made, and has a good feel in your hand. The controls are laid out well, but the slide stop is small compared to others I have used on semi-automatic handguns. The trigger feel is clean and smooth. The sights worked effectively for me right away, without much effort getting accustomed to the gun. I am used to shooting a 9 mm handgun, so I did notice a more pronounced kick with the SR40, although it was very manageable. Just as expected with a Ruger, it worked flawlessly. A fine firearm, and a very good value.

I purchased this Ruger mainly because of the review by Hickok45, I am not dissapointed! It fits my large hand well and is a joy to shoot. An excellent buy for the money. Also cannot say enough about the service from Bud's, they will get all my firearm biz from now on!

This is certainly an amazing pistol for the price. Reliability I would probably give it 5 stars out of 5, same rating I would give the overall aesthetic appeal, however this is not the same thing as a competition pistol. Obviously it is up to the user to make this an accurate weapon, but the bottom line is that it has the ability to be one. Trigger pull weight is not the heaviest, nor is it a hair fire trigger. Probably would make a great service weapon, but I use this for home defense. Overall great service buds, I will be doing more business with you in the near future.

First time customer with buds and was very satisfied. I got this gun with the layaway plan and was really happy with their service. Great gun took it to the range today with no problems or jams, loved it highly recommend this Ruger.
