This is a great versatile .22LR, but mine has one issue I wish it didn't. The sights are pretty clearly installed off by a few degrees off from the 12 o'clock position, or more likely the sights were installed on an unmounted barrel that was mated to the receiver later, but didn't completely screw in far enough to align the sights to their 12 o'clock position. If you install a scope you won't care, and to get the most from this little .22 rifle you will probably want to install a scope anyway, so it won't matter. As far as I can tell this slight but visible misalignment doesn't seem to affect my accuracy much(if at all,) but if this is likely to bother you, you should probably inspect yours before purchasing.

Item was exactly as advertised, fairly priced, high quality, packaged well and shipped fast.

The action came very stiff from the factory. Even after 5-6K rounds, it is still very stiff. Accuracy is around 1” with CCI Standard Velocity. Switched to a Boyd’s laminate stock and it is a looker! Accuracy stayed the same. Overall, I’d buy another if I had the opportunity.

AWESOME rifle, sad that Marlin is gone and I doubt the Marlin under Ruger will ever produce this gun ever again....

Had trouble with ejecting spent rounds, Sent back to factory and they repaired rifle. When using it found it to do the same thing. Factory replaced rifle

Great gun very accurate with cci mini mags

This is an awesome gun. Quality feel, shoots flawlessly ,very accurate. Highly recommend. Takes on about any brand of ammo without troubles. It’s balanced well. The trigger is feather light and crisp. I would not hesitate to purchase this gun again. I have a large collection of 22lr rifles and this one is one of my favorites. Only thing that would make it funner is if it was a lever action but the bolt action on is very sweet and smooth. You will not be disappointed!!

Nice looking gun & accurate out-of-the-box to 50 yards using CCI mini-mag 22LR ammo and open sites. Tubular magazine allows loading of seventeen 22LR cartridges and even more if using 22 long or 22 short. The action and ammo feed is smooth. The only negative is a line discoloration (rust?) on 2/3 of the stainless barrel along the left side from the breach forward. Had to used light grit polish to remove, and now looks fine. Would have given the gun the highest rating if not for this. Buds website makes purchasing very easy.

Very nice .22lr, short, long. The stainless finish attracts attention at the range. Was going to get the blued version but not available and so glad it wasn’t. Not much more for the stainless. No problems after 550 rounds. Very accurate at a great price. The stock could of been better in finish. Had to sand off rough seams in plastic and design is not pretty enough for the stainless action and Barrel, but it’s very ergonomic. Feels great in the shooting position. I might change it for a aftermarket stock one day, but it has grown on me. Mechanical it’s great no mars or bad milling. I will buy again from Buds.

I ordered this rifle hoping that the sights would be better than the standard XT22TR but that was a letdown. Although the materials are better, the sights were not square to the receiver and were canted to the right. the rear sight was hanging out of the dovetail on the right. If you plan to scope the rifle, like I did, you won't have a problem with accuracy. The quality control is still hit or miss with Marlin and has a huge emphasis on miss... As always, buds had a great price on the rifle and their service was faster than I could have asked for.

This rifle is not the same Marlin of yesteryears but it is still a decent gun. Mine is not as accurate as my Marlin 795 which has a worse trigger but I'm still trying different ammo so maybe it will get better. Overall not a bad gun for the money.

Great gun. Not as good as the original Marlins but it works well, is accurate and kills rabbits.

Love the look of the rifle, Not to wild on the black plastic stock but I was planning on replacing it anyways. On the rifle I revived, the holes on the top of the receiver were drilled off center. Dint see it until after I did the paper work and took it home to mount my scope. luckily I was using a DIP mount and I was able to modify the DIP mount to work with the off center holes. Scope is mounted center on the barrel now. Now i'm waiting on my Boyds stock to come in to finish my first rifle.

First, top notch service through Buds. Second, purchased this rifle to replace my 1973 Glenfield Model 20 going to my son as an heirloom. Marlin products still make the best value rifles even after Remington purchased them. Made in New Haven Ct. versus Ky no difference. Way to go Marlin! The Marlin XT-22 TSR in stainless works like a fine wristwatch. It eats and feeds all 22 LR ammo, shorts and longs. Super easy to clean. I highly recommend a Spee-D-Loader for all tube-fed rifles. Accuracy is akin to rifles costing much more, almost if not at the match-grade level. Trigger is top shelf, 2.5 lbs, crisp, and adjustable, although I don't see it, and on a 22 bolt less critical. That said again, it compares with rifles costing much more. Bolt action, not Tikka or Sako grade but well above average. This rifle serves multiple roles as I see it, trainer, hunter (small game), target shooter first rifle, (though long 22" barrel is on the long side), plinker, fun gun, and SHTF weapon. The polymer stock is just okay, probably the weak link, on the light side and mediocre ordinary in quality, however a little very fine grit sandpaper gets rid of those horrible looking seams, Personally, I am a wood stock guy and they are available through Marlin and Boyds, so no problem there, already swapped that out. This ups the rifle aesthetically and functionally into another category in my opinion. However, DO NOT BE turned off by the polymer, it works, and more importantly it's the actual firearm mechanics that is so superior. I am a stong Ruger fan, and own them, however, the tube fed action plus the micro-groove barrel has the American beat. If you want an accurate rifle that will last beyond your lifetime, this is the one to get.

Put a few hundred thru this rifle. Like its accuracy and finish. Think it's way muzzle heavy. Added weight in hollow butt stock to get a better balance. All range time, could play with this one all day.
