Magnum Research Baby Eagle II 9mm 4.5" 15+1 Polymer Frame [BE9915RL]

This was my second purchase from buds and honestly i think that looking for good prices on firearms anywhere else online is a waste of time. After placing my order online, the status of my order was on "processing" for about a week unlike my previous buds purchase (which was 72 hour turnaround in hand) but when it switched to "shipping" it shipped in 2 days. It came pretty greasy wrapped inside a blue bag. You must clean this gun thoroughly before ever shooting it and it was pretty dirty brand new. It came with two fifteen round mags, a nylon and a brass bore cleaner, magnum research decal sticker, nra literature, etc... In a foam cushioned quality plastic case (as in "quality" compared to other factory gun cases). One of the mags wouldn't load more than 12 rounds no matter how hard i tried and the spring felt very flimsy in regards to levered stability when loading rounds. I disassembled both mags and noticed the defective one had an additional floor plate on the top of the spring below the actual plastic piece that held the rounds. I removed it and reassembled both mags and now that specific mag holds 16 rounds instead of 15. That's kind of cool. I guess human error on the assembly line but no biggie, just glad i noticed it early. I dislike the placement of the decocker on the slide. It actually prevents you from accessing the serrations on the slide in order to get a good grip when racking the slide back. I wish it was just a simple 1911 style frame mounted (up for safety on, down for safety off) safety but i understand the functionality of the striker blocking decocker. Its DA when u fire from this position and SA afterwards. I might try to remove it completely, with no safety, at my local gunsmith so i can grip the slide better. The height of the slide is also the shortest i've ever handled but i don't mind that much. I have to aim high on targets to hit where i want but after the first trip to the range i think i have a good feel for the accuracy. All minor details that are by far outweighed by the benefits of this pistol. This gun is gorgeous and can honestly say that the grip is molded specifically for me. It fits like a mold of my hand! PERFECT! Best feeling gun in hand bar none. The recoil is so light that when i shot my very first round i thought it misfired. Absolutely loved shooting this gun (after i figured out my usual aiming was low). I put, roughly about, 270 rounds through it at the range. Bought 300 rounds of a combination of walmart winchester whitebox and federal both 115 grain. Shot 50 rounds through my ruger SR9c and the rest through the jericho and randomly placed around 20 rounds of two different brands of 147 grain jhp rounds i keep for home defense throughout the mags to make sure they fed properly. Not a hiccup. All ammo shot flawlessly. Field stripping is simple, quick and easy and the cleaning is likewise. This is my new bedside pistol so i mounted an aim sports tac light which makes this gun look so aggressive and mean. I love the look of this gun. This gun comes highly recommended and i will highly recommend it also. Nice and big and hefty home defense pistol. I would probably recommend a .40 cal of this model. All the minor iffy items i mentioned are simply for people like myself who research a lot and read customer reviews before a purchase, to have an idea of what to expect. Its my new favorite handgun! This is the best deal if you are considering buying this baby eagle. 5 stars to buds! 5 stars for this master piece of a firearm!
