Diamondback Firearms DB9EX DB9 9mm 3" 6+1 Black Poly Grip EX
[DB9EXO]
$354.00
by Bruce F Date Added: Monday 16 January, 2012
I really love this pistol for the obvious traits of it's small size and light weight. It shoots quite well for such a powerful cartridge in such a light weight gun. This was my second DB9 purchase since my first had the black finished slide and the black coating didn't hold up well. The approx. $40 extra for the EXO coating was well worth the extra money.

This model and all other variants in the Diamondback DB9 series suffer from poorly designed magazines. The magazine followers will occasionally pop out through the feed lips of the magazine. The magazine springs are small and quite weak. Your DB9 may shoot great at the range one week so you load up a magazine and carry the gun for a month or two then go back to the range and experience feeding problems with the same ammo that shot fine two months ago. This happened to me recently and also happened a few months ago with my first magazine that came with the gun. I'm not willing to buy new magazines for this pistol every month. Diamondback need to address this issue as the magazine is the heart of this pistol.

The only ammunition I've found that is reliable with new and broken in magazines is Rem/UMC 115 grain HP, so I'm stuck using this one specific round with my DB9.
