I purchased this rifle for hunting over 10 years ago in 2012. I shoot handloads with Barnes 150 grain TTSX and Barnes 200 grain LRX bullets in Lapua brass. It has Talley lightweight rings and a Nightforce NXS 2-10x42 scope. It regularly shoots sub-moa 3 shot groups. I've hunted deer in the U.S., African plains games, Colorado elk and Alaska moose and black bear. It took a beating in Alaska being out in the rain most of the time but came through it just fine. After hunting in South Africa and before Colorado and Alaska, I swapped the factory stock for an H-S Precision stock because after a deer hunt and removing the action because everything was coated with fine dust/dirt the groups opened up. I could have fiddled with it but think the H-S Precision makes it more consistent with the aluminum bedding block because I remove the action after every wet or dirty hunt. I do maintain a bit of fore-end tip pressure on the barrel. The factory stock did it, Weatherby recommends it, and it seems to work better for me too. I looked at McMillan stocks but I shoot lefty and their stocks aren't ambidextrous. This rifle and chambering is versatile and has performed well for me so that I need nothing else for hunting, other than a .22, .375 and shotgun.

Weatherby rifles are the best bang for the buck! This is no exception. Very accurate and reliable. One of many Weatherby's in my collection.

The best shooting experience I own. I have a lot of different types of guns. But this Weatherby is my favorite for hunting. The fit and finish are as good today as it was when I picked it up at the FFL. The whole Buds experience was fantastic. It shipped fast and customer service is A+

I have Had my Weatherby Vanguard series 2 stainless in 30-06 for a couple of years now. I bought it from buds to use for deer season and for some target practice. I have a bushnell banner scope on it with scope rings from weatherby and it definitely holds up to the accuracy guarantee. I got my first deer with it this last winter and hope to get another one this year. This is a well made rifle that has never given me any problems and has always lived up to my expectations.

The rifle is, in my opinion, a very nice, accurate and deadly weapon, because I shot right out of the box 1/2 MOA, I love my Weatherby, and I will never regret to have bought the gun!

This was my first Weatherby rifle and it did not disappoint. The fit and finish on this rifle is excellent and the action is very smooth. The rifle is very accurate and comfortable to shoot. I would not hesitate to purchase another Weatherby or recommend this rifle to a family member or friend. As always, Buds processed the transaction and shipped the rifle quickly. I have purchased the Weatherby Vanguard S2 in the 7MM mag caliber and took it hunting. I mounted a Mueller 4.5-14X40AO silver scope, Leupold silver dual dovetail rings and Leupold mounts with the reverse front. I was hunting Whitetail deer and spotted two deer at about 115 yards. I scoped the first one in and fired. Well just like you see on tv, the deer dropped right in her tracks. The other deer went about 10 yards, stopped and I shot that one also with the same results. The 7mm worked flawlessly. When purchased I noticed a slight drag on the bolt as though it were metal on metal. I put some light grease on the slide and the bolt and it is smooth and quite. I loved this rifle so much that I have sold my Remington, BDL 700 7mm and my Remington 30-06, and now I have ordered a Weatherby Vanguard S2 in the stainless 30-06 caliber.
