After 300 rounds I am ready to write a review.
Upon receiving it from my FFL I noticed that this gun is TIGHT! I shook it hard and heard absolutely NO rattle! However, it was completely drenched in cosmolene, so I took it home to clean it. It was fitted so tight, I could not remove the barrel from the slide! Everything else came apart relatively easily, but after 150 rounds, it still would not come out. I had to lightly file the inside of the slide between the barrel and recoil plug housings to allow it to squeeze through, but after 100 or so more rounds, it's a little easier to insert the barrel assembly.
Also I noticed that after polishing the feed ramp and throated barrel mouth to a mirror finish, the pistol would not reliably feed, fire or eject JHP (I tried Winchester and Remington), but shot ball and flat nose rounds just fine. The slide finish also started wearing away after 100 rounds. No problem...I just lightly coat it with Balistol after cleaning it.
After cleaning and adjusting the trigger spring, the trigger pull is about 5.5 lbs. I also added Hogue finger grips that fit under the standard Rosewood grips. I really like the way these grips look together!
The gun's accuracy is very good even though the staked GI sights leave something to be desired, but for $375 for a 45ACP commander pistol, it is still a very good buy!
