As a first time owner, I wanted something simple but durable. This is why I chose a plinker 1911. Very accurate but i will probably switch to night sights verses the already installed contrast. It's a bit of a pain at first to clean and field strip, until you watch a few videos. The slide release lever fought me a few times when trying to pop it out of the frame. I must of spent about 15 minutes each day for the first week practicing how to take it apart and knowing what each thing does. I would definitley recommend this gun if you want something comfortable, high quality, and you don't mind dropping around 400.00. I've learned from IT work, that you get what you pay for.
Pro's: Great weight to the frame so you can buildup secondary strength to handle it., loads and handles very well, and simple to put together afer a few practice runs. Alot of freinds and family whom already have alot of handguns had smiles and giggles when shooting off rounds. I've only put in about 100 rounds and never jammed.
cons: the barrel release front portion is stubborn, so I would recomment oiling the spring before you really start taking shots. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, shooting ventures my FFC, and of course how quickly it arrived .
