Updated review - Derek with Bud's contacted Lisa McAlister with Springfield Customer Service for me. Lisa made arrangements for Springfield to give me special reduced pricing ($145) for their Custom Shop to do a 4 lb trigger job with reduced over-travel, and exchange the red fiber optic front sight for brighter green fiber optic. Springfield did a very fast turn-around (about 1 week). The end result is an now an excellent, very smooth target gun that is now REALLY set up for competition!!! It's now much smoother than my stock M&P-9 and M&P-40, it feels like a custom gun. I took it to the range and WOW, it;s dead accurate, more like a rifle than a handgun. I was putting rounds through the holes of the last rounds, about 1" grouping at 25 ft - amazing. If you buy this gun of high potential, do get the trigger job done by Springfield, plus if they do it, it retains the lifetime warranty. If you have a local gunsmith do the trigger job it will void the factory warranty. Springfield regained my trust with their excellent customer service and how they treated me with personal attention and sincere concern for my satisfaction.
Lisa understands my concerns about Springfield marketing this as a Competition gun with totally stock internal workings. It's really a stock XDm with a longer barrel, lightened slide (rectangle cutout on the top of slide like Glock 34/35) and fiber-optic front sight, and it's $700, very steep for what it is out of the box. They should do the trigger job first, then sell it as a Competition gun. And, due to the misleading advertising, Derek with Bud's went above and beyond the call of duty by contacting Springfield on my behalf. He knew that I had called them several times myself about my complaintswith poor results. His clout made them pay attention to my concerns. Bud's provides OUTSTANDING customer service. They have impeccable integrity, you can trust them, do business with Bud's whenever you can. They deserve your business!!!
