Bud's service is very quick, thorough and efficient - their communication from the moment of purchase until the item leaves their warehouse is top notch.
This being said, Taurus QC leaves quite a bit to be desired. The money you save by purchasing a Taurus handgun is a trade off, as receiving a quality, reliably functioning firearm seems to be hit or miss.
My TCP was shipped with a defective barrel. This defect causes difficulty chambering a round manually. (You'll be able to turn up some details on this problem with a google search.) Unfortunately this was not something that I was able to discern at my FFL, so I took the item home and now I have to work directly with Taurus. Their turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. Their customer service people are friendly enough, but in an ideal world, I'd not have to deal with customer service at all.
Taurus's friendly employees and lifetime warranty save them from a 1* rating here. If I had it to do over again, I'd look to another manufacturer.
