WOW..I bought this and a Rock Island Armory Officers 1911 45acp at the same time. I was looking for an effective and reliable ccw. The Springfield is so much smoother. The RIA feels and is heftier but the Springer has a powder-puff recoil compared to the ria. I have shot both with many ammo types and the the springer wins every time. The sights of the springer work better for me as well. I like both - the ria with a houge wrap-around officer sized grip looks great and works well. I'll keep both but will probably carry the Springfield.
