Savage 116 Alaskan Brush 375 Ruger Bolt Action Rifle

In some ways you are buying a barreled action. The stock is bespoke plastic, meaning it seems nicer than the plastic one that came with my Hog Hunter. Coming out of the box the rear sight fell out as it wasn't tightened down. The action came loose from the stock after a dozen rounds as it wasn't tightened either and I am glad it didn't end up stuck in my head. Unlike Hog Hunter, it does come with a metal trigger guard which is nice. You will need to locktite everything and check all before shooting the first time out. I always upgrade to the Hogue Overmold stock online for under $100.

Good enough accuracy it seems. After fifty casual rounds the gun was keeping three-shot groups under an inch at 50 yds with iron sights. Good enough. Trigger pull is great. Recoil pad is a chunk of rubber with the assumption The Alaskan will be shot with cold weather gear on, I guess. I really didn't find the recoil of .375 that bad even after a couple dozen shots.

Great gun and great price, fantastic weight to carry, poor QA and a couple tweaks will be required, a recommend.
