I ordered this from Buds in 2014. First I'll say this: Buds service, selection and pricing cannot be beat. They always have that one specific make/model that you just can't seem to find in stores and their pricing always beats the retailers. As for this specific rifle, I highly recommend it. The .243 is an easy gun to shoot and I actually bought this one for my wife. What I found was I liked shooting it so much I use it more than she does. The recoil is low enough that even a new shooter would be fine. And what really sold me is the Nikon scope that Savage packaged with this. It's a beauty and between that and the accutrigger this gun is a tack-driver. If you are looking for an inexpensive but still classically nice rifle this is the one for you. The .243 is a nice entry-level rifle for big game, but I'd recommend this same model in any of the larger calibers as well.

5th Savage, and like the previous 4 it's a shooter. Loaded up some 87 gr Hornady V-Max and this gun shot a ragged 3 shot hole at 100yds. Shipping took a little time, but with amount of business Bud's is getting here lately, it's understandable. Very happy customer.

I purchased this 10 THXP because the 111 that I bought two years earlier was a very good rifle. This rifle the wood stock is fair, the chering is stamped into the wood. The magazine and trigger guard are plastic ( as in the Savage AXIS models). This rifle comes with a very nice NIKON BDC scope and has the accutrigger for about $100 more than the 111 which has no accutrigger, comes with a very good BUSNELL scope and a synthetic stock. I prefer the 111 thumb safty over the 10 thumb safty which is identical to the Axis model. I prefer a metal trigger guard and metal magazine and magazine well of the 111 over the 10"s plastic ones. For a price of $499.00 it is a good rifle but metal parts would have made it something even better.
