Pulled the Nikon scope and put a Burris 6 - 20 X 50 glass on top. Sub .5 MOA gun. Smooth and accurate, very happy with my purchase. Additionally very pleased with the 6.5 Creedmoor round. Results have been similar to 270 Win shooting 130 gr pills.Took 2 pigs with one shot @ 175 yds. 200# sow through lungs and into 125# boars heart. Sow ran 40 yds, boar kicked for a few seconds, but didn't go anywhere. I have also taken 5 deer and a 340# boar with one shot kills. Old boar went about 30 yards, the rest dropped in their tracks.

I was very satisfied with the savage model 16 TH XP 6.5 creedmoor with nikon scope. With free shipping and no tax, I couldn't buy it cheaper anywhere else.

Straight out of the box, scope rings and other bolts came very loose. After tightening the bolts and putting a drop of locktite everything seemed to tighten up. After sighting it in and with some match grade 130gr ammo, the gun was shooting sub MOA consistently.

T rifle has a very smooth action. The scope seems adequate, but the scope mounts do not, and that's where my trouble began. The rifle was supposed to be bore sighted from the factory, but I still did a bore sight at the range. My first shots weren't bad at all as I dialed it in it suddenly started shooting very high. I adjusted the scope, but it didn't help. That's when I noticed that the scope mount on the rear had come loose. The scope was actually twisted between the front and rear mount. I fixed this with some Burris steel mounts. I have not got back to the range yet but it seems that should cure the problem. Other than that, I have been very happy with the rifle. I absolutely love the 6.5 Creedmoor. When the scope was mounted properly, it was very accurate. I was very happy with the milling and the overall construction. I wondered how the bolt would function but it was very smooth and it was fine. I'm really used to Mauser and Remington, so it looked strange to me. So, one star off for bad scope rings.
