I received gun in a timely manner, but it was also missing a screw for the sight now I have to deal with the manufacture for the fix.

Was extremely pleased with the Rascal. It is really a jewel. Stock is a beautiful piece of wood with a high quality fit and finish. Took it to the,range to sight it in before taking my grandson along. Took three rounds to zero it. Can hardly wait to give it to him this weekend. This is really an heirloom item. Someday he will teach his children to shoot with this. Effortless bolt action and crisp trigger. Worth every penny.

Bought this for my nephew with limited use of his right arm. He loves it, he can hold it up just fine, and no old aluminum cans around his house are safe anymore!

I bought two of these from Buds, one right hand bolt and one left hand bolt. The rifles came in as you'd expect and shot well. I was disappointed to find that the left hand bolt guns are only offered in wood. My sons would've much rather preferred a colored stock. Maybe it's an option that could be added in the future. Solid little starter guns.

My son learned to shoot on a Crickett rifle, which is an excellent learning tool for beginners as there are a few steps to think about before you shoot (no feed ramp and plunger pull to charge). The Rascal Savage is a more refined rifle in my opinion and it comes in lefty. As a lefty shooter, it is naturally safer for my son as his trigger hand leaves the trigger to operate the bolt. Very satisfied. Great rifle for beginners.

Bought this for my 7 year old to learn on, and compared to the cricket garbage this gun is first rate. Very intuitive, no extra keys to turn, no plunger on the back of the bolt, just a straight forward training carbine that weighs nothing and has a great length of pull for vertically challenged circus midgets. If you are in the market for a first rifle for your kids or grand kids, this Savage wont disappoint.
