I read and read many reviews by other owners of the P938. If you are researching you will find mixed reviews all over the internet but I am convinced that most people that get problem guns tend to voice their opinions more frequently and louder than folks with guns that function properly. I read good and bad but decided to take the plunge and get this gun. I do believe that all the kinks/bugs with this model have been addressed by SIG. I have shot over 500 rounds through it without a single issue of any kind. This is THE ideal carry gun for IWB carry in my opinion. Safe to say it is too big for pocket carry but IWB, this thing gets buried easily, making discrete carry much more feasible and comfortable. I know some folks carry full size 1911's but that is definitely not for me. This gun is the perfect size and format for IWB carry. I have tried to carry DAO pistols but I simply cannot get comfortable with a ‘safety less’ carry gun with a round chambered. But that’s just me and where my comfort level is at. I know that everyone is different on that issue. Although this gun does not have a traditional 1911 style grip safety, it does have a stiff ambidextrous thumb safety that I trust even when the gun is in the cocked and locked state during carry. I am a lefty so the ambi safety is a must. I also found that I don’t really care for polymer carry guns. I get that the objective is make light carry guns and polymer accomplishes that but the way they feel and shoot just doesn’t compare to an all metal gun like the P938. The night sights are really helpful during twilight and in the dark while using a flashlight in pitch dark. I have found that when aiming at a lit target using a flashlight in my other hand that regular sights are tough to picture quickly but the night sights on this gun completely resolve that issue. I got the black Nitron version with Rosewood grips but bought a pair of mahogany grips from highfiguregrips.com that really make it stand out with a classier custom look. The gun only came with one 6 round magazine so I bought 2 of the extended 7 round mags. If you have medium to large hands like me the 7 round mag will allow you to firmly wrap all fingers on the gun comfortably. With the standard 6 round mag you will have no room at all for the pinky finger, making the gun slightly awkward to shoot when trying to manage recoil. I never use the 6 round mag as a result. Accuracy is really good. I can shoot a flea in the nuts at 15 yards. The checkering on the front and back of the strap is helpful in maintaining a firm grip. All in all, I am really happy with this pistol as a primary IWB carry gun. Quality is outstanding, accuracy superb, manageable recoil, feels comfortable in hand, price is right, Sig is known to back their guns when needed, 9mm adequate for carry, lots of features for the price, all metal, great feeling trigger, custom holsters widely available. If you are on the fence just buy it. Chances are high that you will be pleased. I am super picky about my guns and this one passes with flying colors.
