Great buy on this pistol !

Great little 9mm. Shoots very well with all the ammunition I put through it with very manageable recoil for smallish pistol. It's a little heavy at about 20.5oz but that helps out with the recoil.

I bought this gun from Bud's last year (great service as usual). It is my EDC gun. I love the size and ergonomics. I carry a spare 8-round magazine along with the flush 6-round in the gun. The gun is of very high quality, except for a recoil spring guiding rod, which is made if plastic. I replaced the recoil spring and guiding rod with a DPM Recoil Reduction System. Other than that, the fit and finish are superb. The trigger is something to get used to and it is not really a fun gun to shoot. It is not the gun I would take to the range very often. But I can shoot really well with it, and that is what counts. So far, I fired about 200 rounds with it and the gun never malfunctioned with either FMJ or JHP bullets. The hammer system is very reliable, and this gun will probably outlast the newer P365, even though that gun is more versatile, comfortable to shoot and has more capacity. I actually wanted a carry gun with a hard trigger pull, so that I make a conscious effort to pull the trigger if it comes to that. I plan to keep this piece for the foreseeable future. Five stars.

for being a small pistol, it is great, accurate, reliable and a typical sig product just very well built, I had an issue with the trigger sent it on 2 days later it was back in my hand and put about 500-800 rounds through it and no issues.

Buds purchasing and customer servise was great as usual. Pistol shipped days after payment, and arrived undamaged. The Sig P290RS is an unusual animal, but I found it very in intreaging. It has the looks and quality of its larger siblings, which is why I had to have it. Pistol has a little heft to it, which I believe helps when shooting. It's a hammer fired, DAO, compact 9mm that is built to Sig's high standards.... you need to feel it to believe it.

Great weapon for CCH. The return on trigger pull is a little long. But this handgun is Sig Sauer quality.

Over time, I've been through several small 9mm automatics - various Walther PPK and TPH pistols, two Glock minis, a Colt Mustang Pockelite, a Kimber Solo, and a Kahr PM9, not to mention any number of small-frame Colt, Ruger and S&W revolvers, trying to find something that (a) I can carry in a pocket holster without looking like a potato smuggler; (b) I can shoot comfortably and accurately; (c) has potential stopping-power that exceeds 380 ACP; and (d) is well made and reliable. SIG's P290RS is the best answer I've found.,so far. As in the case of every SIG-Sauer pistol I've used, the P290RS is very well made and fitted from high-quality materials. It comes "broken-in" out of the box. The Siglite night sights are large and superb, some of the best I've used and they have the benefit of being installed in dovetails so front and back can each be drifted or removed and exchanged. That is not a small thing. This pistols has digested every sort of 9mm round I've put through it with no failures to feed, fire, extract or eject - at all. That includes some fairly wide-mouthed defense rounds like the Federal Hydra-Shok. I've put about 400 rounds through it, so far, both 115 and 124 grain rounds, of both standard and Plus P velocities. I can't detect any material difference in accuracy between 115 and 124, just the typical changes in point of impact at target distances exceeding about 5 to 7 yards. The trigger stroke is safely long but extremely smooth and feels more like 5 or 6 pounds than what the factory specifies, probably because the grip frame is thin enough to allow my trigger finger to pull at the "power crease" with good leverage. I don't have large hands. Those who do might want to exchange the factory installed polymer grip panels with the available wood or G-10 factory options. The trigger reset point is long but consistent. Shooters who like to ride the reset will need to adjust to it. As for "concealability" - after carrying a Kahr PM9 for a while, there's little to no difference. Both are, to me, at the outer limit in size and weight of what can be reasonably carried in a pocket holster. They carry fairly easily in the side pocket of Docker's or loose-fit shorts but are too much for fitted jeans or narrow dress pants. In the latter two, or whenever seated-in-a-car access is indicated, the better method is a small, light Kydex belt holster. The paddle holster that comes with the pistol is adequate but rough on good clothing fabric.

My first p290 was stolen in 2014, so I decided to pick up another one. I use it primarily as my back up weapon. I have a lot of sig pistols and the p290 is one of my favorites. I also have Smith&Wesson Shield,Bodyguard,H&K p30sk,Glock27 and the p290 is still my favorite compact weapon to carry off duty.

Sig Sauer P290RS bought Dec 2016. It came with Siglite night sights, a holster, a 6 rd & an 8 rd magazine, lock, manual, & plastic case. Cleaned it and fired 140 rds with no problems of any kind, using both magazines. Win 115 gr FMJ (white box) & 147 gr hollow points. Accuracy was as good as can be expected from a subcompact. Trigger is not "butter smooth" but it's good enough for a gun that small. It's smaller than I expected from the clips I've seen. The night sites are bright. I cleaned it after shooting and then the slide stop wouldn't stay in. Turned out to be a loose Slide Stop Spring Screw, about half a turn loose! I snugged it down and problem gone. Gun conceals very well. FYI, if you can't find a holster you like my Bianchi 105 SZ 13/15 fits it perfectly. I'm very happy with the gun.

If you have big fingers pass this one up. I have large hands and big fingers. I do not know why pistols makers decide to make very small radius triggers, big radiuses are not a prolem but small ones are to many. The pistol is well made and shots well but my poor trigger finger hurts like hades.

Ordered on the 1st, delivered on the 3rd. Everything as ordered, NIB gun, one six round and one eight round mag. Shoots like a dream. Good DA trigger, accurate as anyone could expect from a sub-3" barrel gun. Got this for pocket carry, and I think it will do that just fine. No light strikes on Sig 124gr ball ammo. No malfs of any kind. Very happy with this purchase, and Bud's service.

Accurate, tiny, reliable. The recoil isn't bad at all for such a small polymer-frame, either.

I love the look and feel of this gun. It is very accurate and great for conceal and carry. I have not experienced any issues with misfeeds. The trigger pull takes a little getting used to but is a nice safety feature. Buying from Buds is always a pleasant experience.

Great gun and easy transaction with buds as usual. Have put 600 rounds through it with one failure to fire. Not sure why it didn't go bang the first time but it fired fine the second probably just a bad round. Very accurate with manageable recoil. The only thine I didn't care for is the stock grip panels. Bough a new set of ebay that are wider and fill my palm better and could not be happier. The trigger pull is long but if your accustomed to shooting double action revolvers or DA/SA hammer fired autos this won't be an issue. All and all great gun great price.

All-in-all the gun is great. Comes with a nice hard Sig case, two mags, and a paddle holster. High quality conceal carry pistol. Shoots great. It has a long trigger pull which takes some getting used to but that's one of the needed safety features.

This pistol has not disappointed in any way!!! With close to 500 round fired it has had zero malfunctions and I have only cleaned it once. The 3 dot night sights are excellent and the grip is excellent. Although the trigger pull is heavy it is quite smooth and once you get used to it, it is quite manageable. Accuracy has been excellent as well. All in all it is an awesome pistol and I couldn't be happier with it. Check the dimensions and compare, although this is heavier than several other pocket pistols it is as small or smaller than all of them. Sigs rule.

1st Sig I have ever owned, just as reliable as my Keltec PF9 but a little heavier. Not as easy to pocket carry but an IWB makes it work for me. No real "Break in" needed as it fed FMJ for 50 rnds then reliable with 124 gr Gold Dots. 100% reliable after 400 rounds, great little gun..Recommend it highly. jb Bud's rocks!

The heft, the sights, the finish, and the feel are just what I wanted. I love the grip when the extended mag is used. This gun is coming with me and I feel just great about it. Thank you for a smooth and very courteous transaction. This truly will be one of the happiest birthdays I've ever had. Sincerely, Judd

I bought this gun because I needed a carry gun and because it is a Sig. I am not dissappointed. I have had nearly all of the so called pocket pistols, including the Kimber, and I do like Kimber 1911's, but this pistol is the perfect carry gun. It's acurate, controlable, and after putting 500 rounds through it the first 3 days, I haven't had the first malfunction. It comes with 2 mags and a very good paddle holster. You won't go wrong buying this pistol.

I bought this pistol based on reviews only. Until I received it I had never held one but when I did actually get to hold it I was extremely happy. The 290RS is made in your typical high quality you would expect from Sig. And from all the reviews and comments they really did a good job addressing all of the negatives from the original model. The trigger pull is long but in my opinion is exactly what you would want for a ccw pistol. And even though it is long, it is a nice smooth pull and not to heavy to cause problems holding your sight picture. It's also a bit on the heavy side but this does help with recoil. The Siglite night sights are great and the extra extended mag is nice for target practice. The holster is a nice accessory and even will accept the 290 with laser attached. I have owned a Kahr CM9 and think both pistols are two of the best small 9mm ccw pistols on the market. I do like having a true DAO hammer fired pistol. As for Bud's service, I ordered on 2-3-13 and it was at my FFL by the morning of 2-5-13!! That's the second gun purchase in a row from Bud's that it took 3 days from ordering to FFL transfer.
