I just received my 229 a few days ago, Buds service was great, the USPS was a little slow, but whatever, she's here now. The pistol is great, solid, well made, hefty but not heavy. Fit and finish are top notch and the diamond plate looks way better in person, the pictures just cant do her justice. I didn't buy her for the diamond plate, I bought her because she is a Sig with the new slide design, night sites, stainless steel slide, aluminum grips (changing them to G-10) and the new 15rd magazines. I haven't fired her yet, I haven't had the time, but the trigger pull is pretty smooth although heavy (I figure that it will lighten up once I put a few hundred rounds through her). The ONLY problem I have with her is the new slim trigger and thin grips. My hands apparently are big and I need bigger grips or the old trigger, when I pull the trigger all the back to release the hammer, the thin trigger allows the flesh of my finger to get pinched in between it and the frame and it's left quit a nasty little bruise. I'm going to have to either replace the trigger or get larger grips, I had this problem on my M&P .40 until I put the large back strap on. Other than that she is a beauty and we'll see how she performs next weekend, top notch job SIG, but making things appealing for people with little hands doesn't help us guys with big hands.
