impractical, huge, almost 5 lbs., low 8+1 capacity, total waste of money but, one of the most interesting and awesome pistols of our modern time. the iron sights left a little to be desired so i installed trijicon night sights for $117. HUGE improvement, even in daytime because of the little white circles around the tritium lamps. the factory hard plastic grip was not that great so i installed the finger grove hogue for $49 and it's now a pleasure to hold even one handed. field stripping and cleaning is so simple and easy. the first time i fired it, i stood flat footed with a squared up stance with locked elbows and it almost put me on my heels (i'm 6' 2" 265 lbs.) i have to use a proper stance and grip to control my shots. recoil is a little bit more than a +P .45ACP. i shot it at an indoor range with people next to me shooting 9mm, .40s&w, .45acp. their guns sounded like pop, pop, pop, crack, crack, crack. this thing makes a BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. it was so loud everybody stopped shooting and watched me shoot this thing. one guy asked his buddy "what is that? and why is it so dang loud?" every friend that i've shown it to, the first two words out of their mouth are "HOLY SH*T!" if your looking for a big bore semi-exotic functional show piece to round out your collection this thing fits the bill. if i find and extra $450 laying around i will probably buy the .50 AE barrel and magazine just for kicks. but even if i don't i'm very happy and satisfied with the .44 MAG. i did have a slight issue with the bolt/slide assembly going into battery after firing. magnum research sent me a prepaid fed ex overnight shipping label for in warranty repair. i got it back within 7 days with a note indicating they polished the feed ramp and it's been trouble free ever since. MRI customer service is one of the best i have ever dealt with. GOOD JOB MRI and thank you john motschenbacher. overall i'm extremly happy with this pistol and the company that stands behind it.
