||What a fun gun to shoot! I am a bit of a WWII history buff and when I saw this I had to have one. I lucked into Bud's having them available one day and the credit card could not come out of the wallet fast enough. A real attention getter at the range. I had it out of the case no more than 10 minutes until I had an audience wanting to take a look.
-It is heavy. Nearly 10 pounds with a loaded magazine, but then so was the original.
-Shoots very consistently accuracy-wise. The sights are easy to adjust from there to get on the bullseye.
-Shoots all kinds of ammo without problems. Mine will even cycle on CCI Quiet but high velocity is recommended.
-A quirk, the ejected casings seem like they are going to fly into the next county. Can't say it doesn't extract and eject with authority!
-Cleaning is not difficult, but not simple either. The breech end of the barrel is a bit of a reach to get to as you have to start back where the stock attaches. The feed ramp is also not the easiest to clean due to the design. Just don't get in a hurry and it can be done.
-The wooden crate is a very nice period appropriate touch.
-Buy extra magazines! You will need them. If you get one that is sticky or won't hold the full 25 rounds, take it apart and clean it. That cured the problem on mine. 2 of the 4 extras I bought had this problem. The one included with the rifle did not.
Would I buy it again? Definitely!
Bud's service was quite good. Ordered on a Thursday and delivered to my FFL on Tuesday.
