I cannot give this pistol any less than a five star rating, and I would expect nothing less from Sig Sauer. I hadn't even held a Sig P226 prior to buying this one, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. When I first held it, it felt absolutely amazing in the hand. I thought that my CZ 75 P-01 was the most ergonomic pistol until I felt this one for the first time. It also seemed smaller than what I was expecting, which is a good thing. It seems considerably smaller than the full sized HK USP .45 that my brother has despite the similar dimensions on paper. I can carry this pistol in an IWB holster without any issue, except when sitting in the car, where the longer barrel can make it uncomfortable.
My first range trip, I fired 100 rounds of Winchester white box and 50 rounds of the Winchester training ammo that I got from Bass Pro Shops. I didn't experience any problems with either load in all 150 rounds. The pistol was super accurate and had a crisp trigger pull. With a steady sight picture and a slow and steady squeeze of the trigger, it would hit right where it was aimed. On the final magazine I hit 10 rounds within the 8 ring and 5 within the 7 ring (I have a plus capacity mag for it from Mec Gar, which I highly recommend). The recoil was soft for a .40, it felt great. And the ejected brass casings were slung at about 4:30 like clockwork 8-10 feet away. Everything about this pistol is top notch. Fit and finish are outstanding and I love the TFO front sights which were super bright during my day time range trip. I expect this pistol to last for a very, very long time.
The transaction with Buds went smoothly and arrived at my FFL in 3 business days. I can't complain about that. I give Buds an A+ and the pistol an A++.
