Outstanding, Easily the best auto pistol I have ever tried out of the many dozens I have owned and/or fired over the years. Even with the DAO trigger, control in rapid fire is excellent and recoil management is superb. While any gun this light must have more recoil energy than a heavier gun firing the same bullet at the same velocity, the Px4 recovers from recoil faster than any other .45 I have shot, including 1911s and Glocks, and the basic but effective three-dot sights allow you to take full advantage of the gun's excellent handling characteristics. The DAO trigger pull is almost twice that of a standard Glock but is very smooth, allowing a greater margin of protection against accidental discharges while still facilitating excellent control. (And since it is a true DAO action, you can buy a snap cap and improve your trigger technique through effective dry-fire practice without spending a mint on ammunition and range time.)
I have a little less than 300 rounds through my Type D .45, but they were all fired in one session to get the gun very dirty, which they did. I experienced no failures of any kind.
I had originally planned to buy an M&P or Glock, but the Px4 outclasses them both in my experience.
