Yugo PAP M-95.
Good finish, gun is tight and needed to be cleaned and polished on the inside. The feed ramp will need to be polished due to some burrs. The mags go in tight and with little wobble. The wood hand guards are cheap and unfinished, but I changed them out for a rail system. Will finish the wood at a later date. I spent 2 hours Polishing the bottom of the bolt carrier and the top of the hammer and the rails that the carrier slides on and the bullet feed lip and bottom of the chamber. Prior to doing this the bullets I cycled came out damaged, which did not bother me at all as I polish all my new firearms before shooting them. After the polish job, bullets feed perfect and no jams what soever even soft point round nose bullets. First trip to the range was lots of fun, had to reset windage as the groups were low left, was firing at 25 yards with small groups even with cheap ammo. Accuracy was way better than I thought it would be. shot from a bench(Good), shot standing with two hands(good), can even fire it one handed and still hit what I was aiming at. Recoil was a lot less than I was thinking it would be. The only problem that I had was the trigger return spring, one side of the return spring had come off one side of the trigger and it would not reset. I fixed this at the range in a matter on seconds with my pocket knife. This is my first AK and I cant believe how simple these things are to work on and strip down. Did I mention how easy these things are to work on. The trigger is great, at least on my AK, around 5 pounds and clean, no hangups no slop, no problem at all. The trigger is almost to good. Way better trigger than my Colt Match Target AR-15 out of the box. I am very happy with the new gun and would do it again in a second. Looks=10, quality=10 Accuracy=10 this is based on AK standards and not Savage Anshutez quality.
One other thing, the front sight picture is not so great, I opened it up with a file so to get a better view of the front sight post. The opening is way to tight for my old eyes to get a good look at the front post. Before I did this I could not focus on the front sight. Before ( lil ) now (l i l ).
I made the front sight opening almost twice the size as it comes from the factory.
Tapco Mags go in perfect with no mods needed, no need to file anything on the Tapco mags....
The mags that came with the gun looked used or at least have been sitting around in a big pile and got nicked up a little bit but the spring is tight and they work well and keep the bolt open on last round fired.
The gun came with grease all over it, make sure you have a one gallon can of some lacquert thinner to give it a good cleaning before you try anything with it, that includes the Mags, they are covered also.
