Purchased the TriStar Raptor Youth 20 Gauge with 24" barrel. I purchased the gun in March 2021, so this is a longer term review. The Good: Generally a good shooter, fairly accurate and cycles most shells pretty well, even lighter target loads. Factory Dovetail makes it easy to add a rail and red dot for turkey season. The Bad: Occasionally experienced light strikes and FTF. Bolt release requires a lot of pressure to operate, my kids struggled with this. The Ugly: After three years of relatively light use. Maybe 10 boxes of shells... a component within the bolt assembly split in two. This happened the day before the youth turkey hunt. So the timing couldn't be worse.

Bought this baby for my daughter. Watched some video reviews. Most said to prepare for it jamming the first 50/60 rounds. But I beg to differ. Not a single jam when first used. Probably put in about 300 shells through it and still not a single jam.

Love the the feel & balance of this shotgun. Fits my son perfectly! Sadly, after several years it has never cycled properly. We’ve used high brass during & after “break-in period” but to no avail. Shells eject but follow-up shells fail to load & gun jams. It was very frustrating to deal with thus problem in a brand new firearm! I’ve been debating on whether to pay a local gunsmith (who may or may not be familiar with gun) or pay expensive shipping to send it back to Tri-Star. I know, I know…! I should have sent it back in the beginning, but it hardly seemed worth the effort… I will stick to proven shotgun brands in the future.

Shot a box of target loads the other day. It shoots and cycles like a dream. Very low recoil.

I bought this gun for my daughter, pulled out of box and put it together, worked the action about 30 times, sprayed with some rem-oil and when I finally got to shoot it, it shot as fast as I could pull the trigger....15 times...5 loads of 3 shells...Winchester xpert 2&3/4...7/8 oz dove loads... So far so good

great gun and just what I want--BUT-the gun has malfunctions and I possible will have to return it for repair--the loading gate is messed up-it will double feed a shell into the carrier--the loading gate will lock up--I have not figured out if the gate is in the correct position sometime--every thing is fine other than these few problems--
