I purchase the Remington 1911 for my wife as a gift. She really likes the pistol, and it handles well for her. She has smaller female hands and is able to handle it very well. Recall and control if reasonable easy for her. Recommend it very much for the lady who wants a very nice handgun with some serious power. She even lets me shoot it once in a while!! Really recommend both the pistol and Bud's. Both top notch.

Buds Gun Shop shipped fast and delivered the item as described. I love this gun! I have always wanted a 1911 and after many hours of research, I landed on this beauty. I watched Hickok45's review on youtube of this pistol and when it arrived, it did not disappoint. Gun did come with the new style and did not match the picture shown but i contacted BGS and they called Remington to check. Remington upgraded the color of the pistol grips and trigger to a darker color but after seeing it in person, I was not upset. Its amazing. BGS had fast customer service and were very professional. I will order from them again.
Shoots like a dream and hasn't hiccuped on any ammo i have ran through it. Typical 1911...if your on the fence about buying it, I would.

Just got my gun today. Initial inspection did not reveal the palm safety was very loose. So loose that the gun can be fired without your hand touching the grip what so ever. Dangerous to say the least. Found this out 20 mins later when i got home. It actually rattles. Contacted Remington and they want the gun back. 15 days to get the gun into my hands and now it has to go back to Remington. Grrr

Excellent 1911. Very nice looking gun and shoots very well. One of my favorites. I didn't like the grips and did change them out for some customized grips.

I would have to say the Remington R1S Enhanced is one of the nicest 1911s i own i own about 4 1911s ranging from Colts to Ruger and now to this Remington the trigger pull is very light compared to others Ive shot not so much a fan of the grips but those can always be changed, sights are very easy to pick up on the first time i took it out shooting a friend of mine enjoyed it so much he now is in the process of buying one as well, would recommend to any experienced or new to 1911 shooters.

This thing is awesome! Just got back from the range and it is a tack driver, very accurate right out of the box. Sights are bright and very visible. The fit and finish is outstanding and it seems to be a quality 1911. Very glad I purchased one.

I ordered my gun and used the layaway. Paid it quickly and buds notified me its on its way. Received it in two days to my dealer it arrived in perfect shape. Wiped it off a little and put a hundred rounds through it. It runs perfect no problems at all. This is a great 1911. Would recommend it to everyone. And the price is great. Great job buds.

This was my first time purchasing a firearm. I was very impressed with the quality of the Remington R1 Enhanced. Great looking 1911, very accurate, and I haven't had any problems with it so far. 800 rounds fired so far and hopefully many more! Also buds delivered it very quick which was awesome. Very pleased with this purchase.

I'll start by saying as a disclaimer I realize these reviews can be subjective. However, I own a number of 1911's and I will state my opinion of this R1 enhanced related to the other 1911's I own. Other than this I own a Ruger SR 1911 that I consider a good firearm. I also own the Springfield loaded in stainless and the Springfield TRP in stainless. I consider both Springfields to be great 1911 examples. I also owned a Ruger SR 1911 black Talo edition that I considered horrible in fit and finish as well as function. Now to my experience with this Remington. I must say I was blown away with the fit and finish of this pistol, The slide to frame was just right with no slop and all components were fit I would say perfectly. The function so far has been Stellar with 300 rounds not one failure to feed or fire. This example I received of this pistol, I would rate as closer to the quality of the Springfield TRP that I own and not the Ruger SR 1911 that it is closer in price with. With the rebate, I will have paid less than $650 for a pistol that in my mind is every bit as good as one of my 1911's that was twice the price. Now, Remington has changed the warranty of this beautiful firearm to a lifetime warranty and that along with the quality makes this in my mind a true bargain as far as 1911's go. If you are considering this pistol, I can tell you if it's anything like the one I received, you will not be disappointed!

What a beautiful gun! Well built, feels great in my hand. The fiber optic sights work very well. The only thing I will say is the points on the checkered grips are a bit sharp but I remedied that with a new set of grips. Otherwise it fires flawlessly, not one issue no matter what ammo I put through it! And of course the stainless version is a beauty! Remington has done extremely well with the enhanced version and I would recommend it to anyone who will listen!

I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT! This Remington shoots better than my Colt double eagle with a bit less kick-back. I do miss the double action and de-cocking lever though. These sights are also easier to line-up than my colt white dot sights. I have not had a single jam from any of the ammo brands I've used including all of my reloads.

Love This Gun, Fit and Finish are great. Shoots fantastic, trigger is good, not great. The gun is down right pretty. Fits the hand like any other 1911 but does it at a cost you can afford, and ill be you wont feel like you missed anything from those $1299 1911's

This is a beautiful machine, not a scratch or a smudge on it. Ordered Thurs nite, had it Saturday. 50rd of 230gr Winchester Whitebox / 50rd of 230gr Blazer Brass and no problems right out of the box no prep (Had a tiny dab of lube on the ramp I wiped off to be sure it wasn't a scratch ☺). Sight was high for me, adjusted down easily and no windage adjustment was necessary. I like the sights. The red nose sight is steel ribbed. The floating rear sight appears to hold very well. Like another user I had to tighten the grips after shooting. Loctite Blue will hold them I'm sure. Very well balanced gun, ejects well to the right, easy to target and accurate. Can hardly believe it is a 45 - not much kick. Fun to shoot. Glad I reload. Love it.

The delivery was slow due the Holidays which is understandable. Every time I contacted Buds they were very helpful and courteous. I will order from Buds again. Remington did a nice job on this gun it looks very nice and trigger is smooth at 4lbs.

Purchased from Buds on 3/5/2015 and picked up from FFL exactly 11 days later. Beautiful satin stainless finish from Remington with a sweet trigger pull. This all metal gun is so different from the polymer "striker" varieties; but in a good way. Smooth. Hardly any recoil which I was concerned about. Great fit and finish. And at an exceptional price. Very happy with this 1911 and would say this is my best handgun.

Overall very pleased with the R1 Enhanced Stainless Steel 1911. Out of the box it was fairly clean, no excessive packing grease. Good slide to frame fit and smooth action. Crisp trigger, nice break. I measured it with my Lyman at 5 lbs, but ti doesn't feel like a 5 lb trigger. Front F.O. sight can be picked up easily for a fast sight picture. Grips are aggressive. Very textured. Magazines are well constructed and lock in easily and with the extended mag release drop out smoothly and quickly. My finish is a more of a matted finish than the picture above. Originally I wanted it to be a little more glossy but the matte is a better in the long run. I won't have to worry about glare when using it outside. Shot 200 rounds through it at the range with flawless operation the first time out. I was shooting about 2.5" groups at 7 yds. The gun can shoot better than me. Overall for the price I am very please with the Remi. I did a lot of online research and decided to go with it. Great features for the price. Bud's service was very good. Two days to process once my money cleared and two days to ship. Also, Bud's had the lowest price I could find with free shipping. Happy shooting.
