Upgraded to this after selling a S&W BODYGUARD .380. It comes in a nice Colt case and includes two 6 round stainless Colt magazines. I also picked up a 7 round Colt Government .380 magazine which fits this pistol as well. Took it to the range after doing nothing but wiping off the excess factory oil from the outside of the gun. Fired 150 rounds, and did not experience a single malfunction of any kind, every time I pulled the trigger, the gun went bang and ejected the spent cartridge with aplomb. All three magazines worked just fine and drop freely when you hit the magazine release. The only problem I had was that the slide did not always lock open on an empty magazine, but I am pretty sure this was because I was riding the slide release lever with my thumb. The sights are basic, but I was hitting point of aim right out of the box at 5 yards. The slide to frame fit is exact and there is no rattle or wobble of any kind. The SA trigger blows all of the DAO pocket .380s that have swamped the market out of the water- it registers at a crisp 3-4 pounds pull. My only complaint on the trigger would be that the trigger face is ridged and because of that I developed a small blister on the edge of my finger over the course of my range session- a smooth trigger face would undoubtedly be more pleasant. In terms of recoil, it is a little jumpy due to the 2 finger grip, but otherwise is mild and I would have no problem shooting hundreds of rounds through it at a time.
All in all, I am quite pleased with this weapon. If you are looking for a pocket .380, I would spend the extra and get this weapon instead of spending less on an LCP, Bodyguard, or something similar and then not shooting it because it simply isn't much fun to shoot. I also own a Sig P238, and while these two pistols are more or less identical in terms of size, weight, reliability, build quality, and handling, the Mustang I feel has a slight edge due to magazines that cost half as much as the Sig's, and a pistol price that is also a little lower, at least on Bud's.
