I did a lot of research before choosing this option. I was law enforcement for 30+ years and wish this was around then, for a BUG. I love the cam-action trigger for a smooth, easy trigger pull; much better than the S&W snubbies I own. Also was the shrouded hammer with single-action option that swayed me as it can be fired from a concealed pocket/purse if necessary. The large trigger guard is also a big plus.
Then is the light 13.5 ounce weight and the 'amazingly accurate' fixed sights. I opted for the ClipDraw belt/pocket clip for my RF pocket instead of a holster for hot weather carry. Been carrying this about a month now.
I ran 50 rounds of 110gr .38spec range ammo and was very accurate to 10 yards, plenty good for me, but the 50 rounds of non+P was a bit punishing. Later, I tried 10 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P (222 ft=lbs energy) and would NOT repeat that very often. The grip has an extra-soft 'spot' built in to help absorb recoil at the thumb web that was a nice touch on the monogrip. Grip is not overly 'sticky' for draw or concealment. Cylinder release is push button instead of typical slide button. The finish appears black and very durable with a stainless barrel, which makes the bore look huge. I chose this over the S&W 340PD at twice the cost due to the Ruger's better trigger.
First Ruger I've owned and my 22nd transaction with Bud's.
