Acurrate gun but very flimsy. Bolt and safety tend to hang up.

Buds always comes through, however on savage I learned that this rifle is poor quality and I have had many issues with it already.

A far cry from the Savage quality I had been used to. This thing leaves a lot to be desired in the fit and function. The Stock is worse than my Daisy bb gun, the action is sloppy at best with a terrible shaped bolt handle, the matte stainless is not only a way to cheap out on finishing but was a filthy mess when received, the magazine is ok once you figure out how to load it, lots of plastic and a very cheap rifle to produce id say. With all of the complaints I have about it, after a bedded boyds stock, a new bolt handle and about 500 rounds the rifle is shooting around 1" groups at 100 yds. I guess i'm neither pleased or displeased but I do plan to keep it around as its a great caliber and is devastating on prairie dogs.

Buds did their part but savage ? first time savage ever let me down not very accurate and the stock needed modifications to not be rubbing on the barrel, in general the stock is garbage ! ------ 3 inch groups at a 100 yards multiple ammo types tried.... own several Savage rifles love them , this thing is junk

Savage B mag in 17 WSM with the stainless steel heavy barrel is a nice rifle. I like the adjustable trigger it is very good. I had read negative reviews about the quality of the plastic stock. So I replaced it with a Boyd's stock and bedded the action the accuracy was excellent. This is a great rifle and a great cartridge for varmints and small game.

Good shooting rifle. I replaced the stock with a Boyd’s before I even shot it.

Purchasing was straight forward, shipped and received in the estimated time frame. Great price. Couldn't ask for a better purchase or process! 5-Star! As for the gun... Great little shooter! I added a bipod, EGW rail for a huge scope and bedded the frame. I can put a full magazine of 20g bullets in a 1" circle at 75 yds. I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with this rifle! Shoots pretty much flat out past 100yds (so far...). You got to get use to how it 'cocks'. First you slide it all the way forward with the handle all the way up, then push the handle down. No sliding it down while sliding it forward. The trigger is charged on the down-ward stroke. If not done correctly it will not trigger. You'll learn after doing that twice... Another 5-Stars!

Highly disappointed. Lets just say the stock is terrible. The bottom trigger guard area broke while I was trying to remove it to adjust trigger. The trigger has creep. I have bought every different round available as of today and the gun WILL NOT shoot into 2moa. I have contacted savage and have yet to receive a resolution. So I have a 17cal, 2.5 moa rifle held together by electric tape, that I cannot hit a crow at 100yards with. I do not like the cock on close action ether. The model 19's in 17hmr are much better rifles. Sorry but it's a honest review and I do not recommend this rifle.

Very pleased with round performance. I knew going in about stock problems, yep barrel isn't centered in stock forearm area, however, didn't affect 4 round zero (3 touching, last round dead center) at 100 yds. Buds always a pleasure to do business with. Certainly fair when dealing with me and don't think it's me, just the way they do business.

bought this 17wsm bmag stainless, was unsure about it as i had read negative reviews on some,, well my bmag stainless is a keeper, honest, repeatable 3 shot quarter inch groups at 100 yards, with winchester 20 grain ammo,, it was a good buy,,and buds was great with the service,,

For the $$$ spent, it's a great rifle. Super accurate for all your pest elimination needs. Put a Muller 8x32x44 scope on it and I swear I could circumcise a gnat @ 100yds. Great grouping for me at 100 yds, as bullet has an incredibly flat trajectory. At that range, the bullet goes where the cross hairs are.! Right now these 20 grain rds can be had for 25 cents a rd, which isn't bad considering ya won't waste many shots on those peaky varmints. Couldn't be more pleased with the gun, as well as Buds continual great service.!

Nice light weight shooter. Found a local prairie dog meadow and, if I did my job, I had kills a bit over 200 yards with no problem. Everything worked fine except for the magazine. For some reason the rotary mechanism seems to be just a little out of sync. Many times as you try to press the next cartridge into the mag, it is on 'dead center' and will not rotate to allow the cartridge to roll into place. I found it was necessary to use a small tool to 'coax' the innards around into proper alignment. Hopefully, that will correct itself in time....or it may be the nature of such a small cartridge.

I got the bmag quickly. The bad first: bolt action is difficult to manipulate, the mag doesn't fit easily into the mag well. Safety could only be set after loading chamber with safety off then when bolt is locked in place can the safety be set on. The good: .17WSM this round is awesome, full floating barrel, I have gotten great accuracy, good trigger. For the price its a good gun but not better than my marlin 917 .17hmr. Save your money and buy the browning t bolt in .17hmr

I'm really liking this Savage Bmag and this new 17wsm cartridge is flat out awesome and priced cheap enough for a everyday shooter. The I've shoot 2 others before I pitched my first one and this heavy barrel version I just purchased is my second bmag, my first was the lighter sporter barrel version. And both are literally tack drivers. I'm getting 1/2 moa at a 100yrds with Fedral and the newer Winchester ammo on most occasions.. I've not yet got any Hornady yet but hopefully will soon. The first boxes of Winchester I ran through the sporter version usually around moa but not everytime. The newer boxes I've gotten are shooting better.. These bmags are not a 800 plus dollar$ custom gun, but to me reliability and accuracy are number one in a gun, it can take a lot of money to make a unreliable or inaccurate gun a decent shooter, but it takes far less $$ to purchase a new stock (Boyd's custom stock 99$) or put a little tlc in the factory one.. I've been a long time fan of the 17hmr since they came out back in 03-04, and the ammo makers had a few hiccups they worked out over time and it ended up being one of my favorites rounds to shut and owning 3 diff rifles in that caliber .. And this new 17wsm blows it out of the water, it's much flatter shooting, faster and is on par with a small bore centerfire. I know I'm not the first think or even make the comment that the rimfire market was and is in much need of more variety and variations of cartridges, somewhat like the center fire market. There cheaper to shoot and there's plenty of varmints to kill.lol. For the money the Bmag is money well spent..

Fit and finish is poor. Stainless barrel has poor finish and the stock is a piece of junk. It jams against one side of the barrel and the other side has a bing gap. I had the earlier slim blue barrel and it was total junk. I was hoping the new model would have a better stock but not much difference. Doesn't group very well.
