Received gun quickly from Buds, noticed small blemish/porosity in barrel shroud but accepted handgun as it was minor and we felt it would see more wear & tear as a carry gun anyway and no big deal. Unfortunately the first time we shot it about the third round we saw something fly off the gun, closer inspection revealed that a chunk of the barrel shroud had broken off where the porosity had been. Apparently it was deeper and worse than we had thought, it was a defect that one could not ignore. We contacted S&W and they arranged for it to be returned for evaluation. They contacted us shortly after wards to tell us they would replace the gun as it was unrepairable. Two weeks later we picked up a new revolver at our FFL and it looked fine and works perfect. Everything worked out fine & S&W were great.
