Can't say enough positive things about the 597. Although I replaced the scope that it came with, you can hit your target fine after sighting it in. My only problem with the scope is that the dials seem to get bumped out of position VERY easily- but not a Bud's problem at all, that's on Remington.

The gun shipped quick, I picked it up at my FFL 3 days after the order processed. This is 9-10 guns from Bud's and every one has arrived quick and precisely as described. Comes with 1 10 round mag and a standard lock and paperwork inside a cardboard box.

The 597 is a tack driver. It doesn't seem to like the Winchester X 40 grain 1300 FPS ammo, it went through just about every other kind we had without a problem. Winchester X would fail to eject a couple times each magazine. Will keep on trying it and see if that changes over time.

Great gun for squirrels and general varmint control or just the casual paper targets. A great gun and a lot of fun!
