This was my first cz. It did not disappoint. A great entry level skeet gun. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into sporting clays and skeet shooting.

I'll assume that anyone seriously looking at O/Us in the sub-$1000 price range is trying to get into their first. The most important factor you should know is that quality and price are married, as with most products. If you're looking for a hunting O/U pretty much all of the sub-$1000s will do. I wanted something to shoot clay with 95% of the time but couldn't afford to get into a Silver Pigeon II, CItori or Red Label. With shooting about 1200-1500 rounds per year I was scared to skimp on this purchase (compared to a $300 pump that you could shoot 20,000 rounds before having issues). After a lot of research the decision was between the CZ Wingshooter and the Franchi. It was finish of the CZ that pulled me in. Although I've only put about 250 rounds downrange so far I'm feeling confident enough to give an initial review. My first impression was great. Clearly, if you're looking at this gun you know the aesthetics are gorgeous - hand scrolled and painted. Scroll work encompasses the receiver, trigger guard and on the hand rail. The gun comes packaged with 5 chokes plus a key and accepts 2 & 3/4 and 3inch rounds. It's very lightweight but in the 20 gauge has enough weight to absorb the recoil. The buttcover has a plastic upper edge to prevent catching on my fleece (What sounds like a small detail but I've come to appreciate it greatly). The safety and selector switch work well. Autoejectors have enough power to clear shells well away from the action. Speaking of the action: it was stiff for the first 50-75 rounds. After yesterday's 100 round session it's dramatically better and I suspect will be worked in nicely by the next 100. Not much else to say other than it's a nice gun. I'll try to update the post after the first few thousand rounds to comment on durability. Before I even get there I can tell you that I'm already planning to pick up the 912 12 ga semi. Says a good amount for CZ! Cons: This gun can be very hard to find Turkish walnut is lightweight and soft (but I'm told by dealers that's MOST guns these days) Choke tubes aren't individually labeled! No choke case Does not include travel case (only a lightweight sock/sleeve)

I have owned this gun for about a year now and although I haven't had time to do a lot of shooting I have managed to put about 500 rounds down range. With that said I will agree with the first reviewer and say that this is probably the finest o/u shotgun that you can buy for under a thousand dollars. I you are on the edge about buying this gun don't wait. I own 6 different makes of shotguns and this is one of my best 5 Stars from me.

This is my second CZ O/U and they are unmatched for the price. I had a Browning Lightning Sporting Clays years ago and was a fine shooting gun but I can tell you for the casual sporting clays shooter nothing beats a CZ O/U. One thing though they are extremely tight out of the box and plenty of lithium grease or gun oil is required. The engraving on the Wingshooter is very nice along with the gold pheasants and ducks on the side panels. If you are looking for a quality O/U for under a $1000 then this is it.
