Is there no safety at all? (besides keeping the finger off the trigger)

no manual safety the only safety is a long trigger pull I agree it should ONLY be carried in a holster that covers the trigger guard

Hi Michael, You're correct there is No safety. A holster with full trigger guard cover will help immensely.

This is correct Michael. A holster with full trigger guard cover will help immensely.

That is correct. No manual safety. I think Ruger should take tip from the Taurus Curve and ship this gun with a trigger cover/ holster
