The 1859 has a fiber optic front sight. The 1900 does not. The 1900 is CA approved for CA sale. The 1859 is not. Otherwise, same gun. oag.ca.gov/firearms/certguns?make=Dan+Wesson

Eric, the 1900 has Standard Sights and the 1859 has Fiber Optic Sights. The 1900 is approved for sale in CA and the 1859 currently is not. CA models usually have LCI - loaded chamber indicators - and/or magazine disconnects.
