Does anyone know if the guide rod is metal (alloy/steel/alum) or Polymer?

Definitely a polymer one. Sig products are great but no one would fault you for wanting to switch it out. Stay safe and have a great day!

Plastic but mine has a lot of round and I have never felt the need to replace it
