  • Yes, .38sp is a lower pressure cartridge and is safe to fire from gun rated for .357. You just can't do it the other way around. Have a great day!

  • Larry, yes sir, any 357 Magnum revolver can shoot 38 special. You just cant shoot 357 Magnum out of a firearm chambered in 38 special. So you can shoot 357 Magnum from this for defense, or 38 special for less recoil for fun at the range. Hope this helps

  • Larry, yes Sir, virtually any .357 Magnum firearm can shoot the shorter and less powerful .38 Special ammo no issue. Cheers and stay safe. P.S. when firing the shorter .38 special, it will develop a carbon ring in the cylinder after some rounds are fired and will cause the longer .357 cartridges to stick when inserting, ejecting. The cure is just to run a bore snake / cleaning brush through the cylinder after firing .38 and switching to .357.
