Hi point

Need some help. I am looking for an inexpensive but realiable gun that my girl can shoot so I dont have to worry when I am not home. I have heard good and bad things about high point and was curious those of you that have them after the first 100 or so rounds where you get jams is it reliable from that point on or does it continue?

I have a friend with a Hi Point 9ml. and he complained of a lot of jams. When I shot it I had 2 feed jams in 5 shots. He seems to think it's a clip problem but I'm not so sure. That's been about a yr. ago. (he paid $130) I'll see him tonight or this Sunday and will ask about it and get back to you. But one thing I do know. The dealer I get my guns from won't carry them in his store. He calls them "disposables".

Don't have much time but just talked with my friend that has the Hi Point 9 ml. He said the gun doesn'r load the last round almost every time which probably means the problem is the clip. But he also said he's only fired about 100 rnds through it in the past year, so ya can't tell much from that. Sorry I couldn't help ya. Will still ask around.

I had a hi point two years ago and the darn thing smoked stacked about twice evey two fulll mags . On the other hand my rugar dosesn't do that > But as much as i like the rugar, i even like the bersa thunder in 380 even better . I invite you to read my thread on the bersa thunder .

I hate to use the word NEVER, but if given a choice of almost any other firearm I would NEVER trust a Hi-point in the protecting of my own life or that of my family or friends.

i never trusted my hi point to be there if the stuff ever hit the fan . I just couldn't rely on its ability to be fire when needed. I just don't trust any hi point .
