First let me say that the Berreta U22 Neos is just a fun pistol to shoot. I have a bulk box of Remington Golden Bullets which is the only thing that I have fired through it . Not one problem of any kind at all for the day , all it did was go bang. The carbine kit looked cool so I had to have, ordered it from Buds and three days later it was on my doorstep. This was with all the warnings about shipping delays, backlogs and all of that stuff. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The kit works great and it is pretty easy to install. The only thing to really watch for is the barrel nut is easy to come out of the slot along with the spring. Make sure you are working on a flat surface with good light

This carbine kit has turned my NEOS pistol into the most amusing range toy ever.

It's minute of clay pigeon accuracy is just fine for my purposes.

My purpose is simply to have a fun range toy.

I bought the Beretta Neos 22LR pistol about a month ago at the Bud's retail store. It's a great little pistol and I've had as much fun shooting it as my 9 year old son has. After several hundred rounds of all different quality, it just keeps running with no problems. I got the Neos knowing the Carbine Kit was available, but it's hard to find. I added it to my 'email alert' list, and Bud's let me know via email they had it in stock a few days later. I ordered it online and it arrived 3 days later. I've bought several Glock, Beretta, Taurus, and S&W pistols from Bud's online and picked up at the store the next day. The new retail store is by far the best in the region and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth my 1 hour drive for their prices and selection. I've previously ordered lots of Glock and Beretta magazines online, including some extras for the Neos, and they always arrive within a few days. Once the Neos Carbine kit arrived, I was impressed with the fit and finish. It's not cheap, more than a lot of complete 22 plinker rifles, but it turns a very nice pistol into an extremely functional, high quality, great looking, easy to handle, accurate, lightweight rifle. Beretta has done an impressive design/engineering job with this platform. This kit is fun and cool. Bud's service and priciing will keep me coming back.

This is really a nicely done Carbine Kit for the Beretta Neos. I just received my Carbine Kit from Buds two days ago. Bud's offered the best price anywhere and once it was in stock again, I jumped on it. It may be hard to justify such a purchase when you could get a whole gun for the money, but this is just the ticket for Neos fans that want a light weight takedown carbine.

I took it to an indoor range on the first day and an outdoor range the second day. I have only used the standard aperture sights at ranges of 20 yards, 50 yards, and 100 yards. This little carbine is surprisingly really accurate at 20 and 50 yards. At 100 yards, I believe a scope of some sort would gain you the accuracy needed for that range. The stock sights just aren't 100 yard target sights, plus target sights are found on a different type of gun. At 50 yards and below, this carbine kit makes a plain Beretta Neos pistol exceptional.

You know what this gun needs though, some sort of pack that straps into the opening on the skeleton stock. The slots are already there for the straps, and it would make carrying extra magazines a breeze in the field. I think I can figure that one out on my own though!

I've had this kit for a few months now, and have really enjoyed it. Used it fairly successfully at a Steel Challenge match a few weeks ago, worked really well, ended up 5th in the RFC class.

The pros:
- Accuracy: I've long been happy with the Neos Carbine's ability to put all the rounds through the same hole at 25 yards or less, but have been wanting to try it at some longer ranges. Finally had some time to get it out at the 100 meter range, and it really surprised me, when the wind calmed down enough, I was getting pretty consistent 2-3" 10 shot groups at 100 meters, and about 1" groups at 50.

- Ammo: I've put a bunch of different ammo through it, some worked really well (CCI's Mini-Mag), some not as well (Remington Thunderbolt). Aguila Match Rifle works well too, but can be a little harder to find. After much experimentation, I've settled on CCI's Mini-Mag, they seem to burn cleaner and are plenty accurate. I put about 300 rounds of Mini-Mag through the carbine this morning, and had one failure to fire (though it fired on a second try), and 2 jams, likely due to the rounds getting a little stuck in the magazines.

The cons:
- Price: For the same price, you can pick up a new Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin 795, though I don't know if they'd shoot as well as the Neos Carbine without some after-market mods.

- Lenth of Pull: I have fairly long arms, and for me at least, the length of pull is too short. Beretta has said they're going to be releasing some inserts to extend the length of pull, but given how long it took the kit itself to come to market... Let's just say I'm looking for an alternative solution.

- Eye Protection: It's really important to wear some decent shooting glasses when shooting the carbine (you should be regardless though, right?), depending on ammo, you can get quote a bit of powder coming out as the slide starts opening. As a pistol, it doesn't matter, since your eyes are further away, but as a carbine, I ended up getting some of the powder into my eyes with standard safety glasses. Get some good close-fitting shooting glasses and you should be fine.

Overall, a great addition if you already have a Neos. If you can afford one, and are interested in giving your Neos some more versatility, you should definitely pick one up.

Regarding Budd's Gun Shop: Got exactly what i expect from an online e-tailer. A good price and no problems. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
