Front sight removable?

Ruger AR-556 16.1" 223 Remington/5.56 NATO AR15 Semi Auto Rifle
I'd wanna throw a red dot on here immediately. Can you remove the front sight without affecting function?

Hi Graham, Yes, but you will need to add a low profile gas block. The front sight will not affect function of a red dot sight you will not even notice that the front sight is still there with a red dot installed and turned on
