  • Agree ....I have a 1x4 Leupold scope on my Ruger 77/44, .44 mag bolt action rifle that would work great on this Marlin .45/70. I would only add that you should get as high a quality scope and mounts that your wallet will allow as the .45/70 in a lever gun recoils pretty hard. And use Loc-tite..

  • Yes it is. A low power scope set in low rings works best with the stock design of these rifles.
