It will fire but it is not recommended. Though the 22 short is less powerful compared to a 22LR, it is not stated in any manufacturer instruction manuals. Nor is it stated on their website. I would recommend just using it as is. You don't want to risk injury to yourself for possible damage the firearm thus voiding the warranty. Thank you.

Absolutely! It will safely chamber and fire any .22 rimfire from CB caps, to Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifle rounds. The .22 Long shares the same case length as the .22 Long Rifle, but uses a lighter bullet, so you can shoot those two without concern over residue building up ahead of the tiny case mouth. With shorts, or CB caps, expect some residue to form that will need scrubbing from time to time to keep the chambers clear for the longer rounds.
Unlike a centerfire cartridge, the .22 uses a heel-base bullet of the same diameter as the case. All but a small flange portion of the bullet protrudes forward from the case and the bullet is locked in place by a roll crimp on the bullet base. -

Yes you can Steve. You can fire any .22 round shorter than a long rifle in a chamber long enough for a Long rifle. With a revolver, you will want to clean the cylinders frequently to avoid build up past the short length which would make it harder to load and extract longs and long rifles in it.

Yes you can . You can fire any .22 round shorter than a long rifle in a chamber long enough for a Long rifle. With a revolver, you will want to clean the cylinders frequently to avoid build up past the short length which would make it harder to load and extract longs and long rifles in it. Now 22mg is a different diameter so you cant use 22lr in a 22mag cylinder
