  • John, this is not normal especially with ball ammunition unless you got a bad batch. I would first try some other brands of 380 to check function. If it clears then the ammunition is the issue. If not then the pistol is the issue. Also try another magazine just in case as well. If these don't pan out, don't mess with it for the sake of your warranty and contact Springfield immediately for service at Toll-Free: (800) 680-6866 or Phone: (309) 944-5631

  • My 911 has had issues with Fiocchi ammo as have a couple other 380s I own. It's noticeably softer in recoil than other ammo to me. I'd try a box of something else and see what happens. After the cycling issues I had, I tried a box of Critical Defense (hotter chage) and it cycled it perfectly. Springfield has excellent C.S. if you need to call them.
