Are there any differences as far as quality between the police model 870 and the marine magnum? I'm not concerned about the nickel finish or stock but rather internal parts.

The major difference is the plating and the capacity. However, the Police Model does utilize heavier springs as well as a machined extractor and ejector. The Marine Magnum is based on the express model and uses a cast extractor and ejector.
