  • Hosea - Federal law says To buy a handgun, you must: Be 21 or older; Provide state ID; and Have a background check done by a licensed firearms dealer. That pertains to sales from Licensed dealers, and Buds would only ship to a licensed dealer. So, you'll have to be 21. Some states permit anyone 18 and older to purchase a handgun from a private individual. Mississippi requires one be at least 18 to possess a handgun, unless it is a recognized sporting event that requires the participants to use a firearm.
