No this is not a heavy barrel it is a standard M4 barrel

Jeff - this is not a 'heavy barrel'. If you are looking for a rifle to meet state restrictions that call for a 'heavy barrel', this one will not qualify with the M4 cut in it. Some states that restrict AR ownership to the rifles with a heavy barrel specify 'no cuts in barrel'. This will not meet those requirements ... such as in Maryland.

Jeff - No sir, this gun has a 16" M4 Profile 4150 Chrome-Moly Steel Barrel with a 1:9 Twist. The HBAR barrels won't have the 'govt cut out' in them - same size all the way out from the gas block to the muzzle.
