  • Is the finish on this comp model the same as the one on the CCU MODEL?

  • No, it is not the same finish. The CCU models have a black PVD finish, the competition .45 you referenced has an actual blued finish (polished flats). They are NOT the same.

  • I ordered and received mine in July of 2019. The finish is a traditional bluing with polished flats. There doesn’t appear to be a difference in model numbers for the mat finish vs blued

  • Yes Hank, same finish. Colt call it "Forged Carbon Steel" finish on their web site. It is not a 'polished blued' finished but rather a matte black type finish - it is what is being called "blued" these days, but nothing like the true highly polished 'blued' finishes on the old Colt pythons. colt.com/api.php?action=specsheet&product_id=223168&title=Competition%20(45ACP)
